GTEC – Orange Announces Fall 2024 Scholarship Recipients
This year, for the fall semester of 2024, Golden Triangle Emergency Center in Orange awarded two $750.00 LVN scholarships to students enrolled in the LVN program at Lamar State College-Orange.
Golden Triangle Emergency Center staffs its facilities with top-tier professionals and recognizes the value of investing in the future generations of healthcare providers in our local community. The scholarship recipients must demonstrate passion for the profession in an 800 word essay, have a 3.0 GPA, and submit a resume illustrating a history of excellence.
One of this year’s scholarships was awarded to Rebecca Garcia of Orange, Texas. Garcia is a nursing student at LSCO. “Nursing has always been my dream job. From a young age, I felt drawn to the healthcare field and knew I wanted to be someone who could make a positive impact on the lives of others,” Garcia stated in her submitted essay. Garcia plans to continue working toward obtaining her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Ryan Ellis of Orange, Texas is the second recipient of the Fall 2024 scholarship. Ellis began his collegiate Nursing career in January of 2024. “I have always been the person to help out others before myself. I feel gratification knowing I can impact someone, or their families lives…” explained Ellis in his questionnaire to GTEC. “I plan to work at one of the hospitals in our area, but I’m not stopping with LVN. I plant to start Registered Nursing school in the fall next year.”
