Golden Triangle Emergency Center is committed to providing excellence in medical care, which calls for the very best nurses, doctors, and medical personnel. In addition to staffing our emergency centers with these high quality, expert professionals, we also realize that it is critically important to support the next generation of medical experts. That is why we are so pleased to have a scholarship program in place for nursing students allowing us to award financial support to worthy applicants.
Scholarships for LVN and RN Students
The scholarships are for students who are enrolled in either a Licensed Vocational Nursing Program or a Registered Nursing Program at Lamar State College Port Arthur or Lamar State College Orange. Applicants must be currently enrolled in these programs and must meet the list of requirements detailed below. The LVN scholarship awards $250.00 and the RN scholarship awards $500.00. Applicant Requirements and Deadline
Scholarship applicants, for either the LVN or RN scholarships, must submit their applications and essays no later than Friday, November 13th, 2015. A successful applicant for either scholarship must meet all of the following requirements:
- Must be a currently enrolled, full-time student
- Must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Must submit a school transcript
- Must submit a resume
- Must submit an 800-word essay detailing why they have chosen to pursue a career in nursing, what plans they have for the future, and why they should be chosen to receive the scholarship
- Must have everything completed and submitted by Friday, November 13th, 2015
Presentation of the Scholarships
The scholarships will be presented to the chosen students on Tuesday, November 17th, 2015 by Angela Webb R.N., B.S.N., C.E.N. Golden Triangle Emergency Center is excited to support the next generation of Registered Nurses and Licensed Vocational Nurses and looks forward to awarding these scholarships.
