Living with Alzheimer’s Disease

November is National Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness Month. GTEC will be providing helpful info and links pertaining to Alzheimer’s Disease throughout the month. Many Southeast Texans are affected in some way by this progressive disease.

According to alz.org, “Alzheimer’s is a type of dementia that causes problems with memory, thinking and behavior. Symptoms usually develop slowly and get worse over time, becoming severe enough to interfere with daily tasks.”

The CDC cites that “in 2013, as many as 5 million Americans were living with Alzheimer’s disease.” Follow the link below for a wealth of information regarding the signs and symptoms; diagnosis; treatment; help for caregivers, etc.
