2020 Spring Nursing Scholarship

Every Year in the spring and fall Golden Triangle Emergency Center gives a nursing scholarship to one LVN and one RN student from Lamar State College Orange.  This spring we would like to congratulate our 2020 Scholarship winners Cara Metrejean LVN and Victoria Leach RN. The scholarship recipients have to be full time students, hold at least a current 3.0 GPA, submit transcripts, a resume, and two letters of recommendations, and an 800-word essay describing why you are deserving of this scholarship and why you chose nursing for a career and your plans after graduation.

Cara Metrejean is our LVN scholarship recipient. She chose to get into nursing after her own personal experience with a life changing health issue. Cara’s daughter, Amelia, was born with CHD and had to have multiple surgeries before unfortunately she lost her fight. This made Cara want to get an education that would give her the ability to help people just like her daughter.

Victoria Leach is our RN scholarship recipient. At a young age she was exposed to the tough side of health care. Victoria was only 10 years old when her grandma was diagnosed with cancer. She had to watch her grandma become very sick while receiving her chemo and radiation, and did what she could to help. At that moment, she knew she wanted to get into health care.

We are so happy to award these amazing woman scholarships. At Golden Triangle Emergency Center, we are all about furthering the people in our community and making everyone better. Golden Triangle Emergency Center is here 24/7 for all your minor and major emergency needs.
